The legacy of Curtis is deeply intertwined with another American jewelry powerhouse, Uncas Manufacturing Co. Founded by Italian immigrant Vincent Sorrentino, Uncas started as Sorrento Company in 1911 before rebranding in the 1920s. Known for its variety, exquisite design, and high-quality craftsmanship, Uncas jewelry became a staple in American fashion.

In 1936, Curtis Jewelry Manufacturing Co. became part of Uncas, and the Curtman Company, as well as Vargas MFG, joined the fold. Uncas continued its legacy of elegance, acquiring the Vargas building in 1996. The Sorrentino family’s involvement in the business persists to this day, ensuring the continuation of their fine jewelry tradition.
